Trickster se dit "Mikumwessuk" en mig'mag

Jour 3 pour Trickster@Listuguj. Déjà ... les journées passent si vite.

 

 

 

Après une dizaine d'heures de route, nous, Cyril, Marie-Christine et FX, sommes arrivés dimanche soir dans la communauté mig'mag de Listuguj. Sheila, coordonnatrice des services communautaires au Conseil de bande, était là pour nous accueillir. Petit tour de la communauté pour repérer les lieux et gouter aux énergies qui règnent  dans cette communauté établie sur les rives de la rivière Restigouche, à la frontière du Québec et du Nouveau-Brunswick. Les premières impressions sont excellentes: la communauté est en santé et les gens sont des plus accueillants. Pour l'anecdote, n'oubliez pas de régler vos horloges: nous sommes bel et bien au Québec, mais nous vivons sur l'heure du Nouveau-Brunswick. Lundi matin, nous retrouvons Sheila à l'école accompagnée de Spencer, animateur jeunesse à la maison des jeunes. Spencer sera de l'équipe Trickster pour les 2 prochaines semaines. À nouveau, le principal et le personnel de l'école nous accueillent le sourire aux lèvres et les bras ouverts. Nous nous dirigeons aussitôt dans le gymnase de l'école, lieu de rendez vous pour le début des ateliers.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Ces premières journées sont aussi pour nous l'occasion de se faire connaitre et faire connaitre le projet dans la communauté afin, notamment, que tous les jeunes qui le souhaitent puissent venir participer. Annonces à la radio communautaire, Facebook, affichage dans les lieux publics, flyers dans les livraisons du dépanneur, bannière à la maison des jeunes ... mais aussi et surtout rencontres informelles et bouche à oreille ... le mot se passe de personne à personne. L'interet et l'accueil sont au rendez-vous. Au programme des premiers ateliers: jonglerie de balles, poi, diabolo et autres techniques de cirque, jeux de confiance et d'expression, jeux de groupe et autres activités physiques. L'objectif est pour nous de connaitre le groupe, pour eux de nous connaitre, autant que de développer la confiance, la créativité, l'écoute, le rythme, l'expression ... autant de techniques, habiletés et attitudes qui nous meneront atelier après atelier vers la mise en scène d'un show inspiré par des contes et légendes mig'mag de la communauté. Jour après jour, les liens se tissent. Ca n'a pas pris longtemps que les jeunes nous appellent "les Tricksters". Nous voilà meme avec des surnoms : Marie-Christine devenue "Crazy Krikri", Cyril "Cereal", et moi "Rex".

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Dans les prochains jours, des aînés de la communauté viendront nous rejoindre en atelier pour partager aux jeunes des contes et histoires appartenant à la culture mig'mag. Nous avons déjà eu l'honneur de rencontrer Kathy ou encore Mike afin de les inviter au projet. Kathy en a profité pour nous inviter à souper, nous partageant expériences de vie et savoirs traditionnels. Elle insiste sur son désir de partager combien la préservation de la langue traditionnelle est importante ... avant tout car elle fait partie intégrante de l'identité de tout à chacun autant que d'un peuple.
