idAction: de Kamamukanit à Kanehsatake

Cet été, les participants de deux des groupes idAction sont d'origine autochtone: un premier groupe à Montréal, Ka Mamukanit, et l'autre à Kanehsatake du projet Pikwadin soutenu par le Conseil de Bande de Kanehsatake, qui a décidé de remettre sur pied la radio communautaire. Le premier groupe rassemble 8 jeunes Autochtones habitant Montréal, mais d'origines fort diverses (Colombie-Britannique, grand nord québécois, les prairies) réunis dans le cadre du Projet Ka Mamukanit, un programme de pré-employabilité.

Le groupe du projet radio, que nous voyons depuis maintenant deux mois, nous avait demandé lors d'un atelier quelle est l'opinion des montréalais à propos de la crise d'Oka qu'ils ont vécu pour la majorité. Ainsi, avec le groupe de Montréal, nous avons visionné Kanesatake : 270 years of resistance et sommes sortis dans la rue interviewer les passants sur leurs connaissances générales à propos de la crise d'Oka. Un bel exemple de médiation inversée, l'occasion pour les participants d'informer plusieurs passants sur les événements de 1990 à Kanesatake, tel que la source du conflit, le nombre de jours de siège par l'armée canadienne ( 78 jours ), le coût total pour le gouvernement canadien ( 155 Millions !) tous des faits importants à se remémorer et qu'ils ont appris en visionnant le film. Ils sont donc munis de leurs réponses et prêts à partager leurs résultats avec les jeunes de Kanestake aujourd'hui!

La rencontre

Une première pour le programme idAction: les deux groupes uniront leurs forces pour un jour complet lors d'une sortie du groupe de Montréal à Kanesatake! Pour vous mettre vous aussi dans le bain, visionnez le documentaire de l'ONF sur la crise d'Oka.  

 
 

 

La radio

En parallèle, le groupe de Kanehsatake a décidé de ré-ouvrir la radio communautaire. Et la question a été posée dans la communauté «Aimeriez-vous voir la radio communautaire de Kanehsatake ouvrir à nouveau?»
