Cette semaine, notre bénévole Sonia étiquetait le 1500ème livre de la bibliothèque idAction Mobile!

Philosophie, psychologie, romans policiers, poésie, biographie... Grâce à de généreux donateurs, notre bibliothèque s'enrichit chaque jour un peu plus! Nous remercions ce mois ci l'émission Plus on est de fous plus on lit, de Radio Canada, la Fondation pour l'alphabétisation, la librairie L'Échange, la librairie Débédé, la bibliothèque de Mc Gill College, le Festival International de Littérature, Marie José Thériault, Paula Désy, Mr Guidi et tous ceux qui ont participé en amenant quelques précieux livres!

Grâce à tous ces dons, nous avons pu mettre sur pied 3 relais fixes de bibliothèques dans lesquels les itinérants peuvent en tous temps trouver des livres, rapporter ceux qu'ils ont empruntés. A l'heure actuelle, nos livres circulent donc entre la caravane, le refuge pour itinérants autochtone Projets Autochtones du Québec, le Centre d'Amitié Autochtone de Montréal, et La Maison du Père, refuge pour hommes itinérants.
Lors de l'installation de la dernière bibliothèque en date, Jean Ricard, l'un des résidents de la Maison du Père s'est approché, tout heureux d'avoir un nouvel arrivage de livres " J'aime les romans historiques mais tous ceux qui sont ici je les avais dejà lus! Ca fait longtemps qu'on n'avait pas eu de nouveaux livres, c'est super!" explique Jean.

Mercredi, Joel Basile, l'un des participants idAction Mobile, prenait part à une rencontre entre la chargée de projet et une nouvelle bénévole, tout juste arrivée de France. Lorsque celle ci nous a interrogés sur la définition de "communauté autochtone" nous avons laissé Joel lui répondre: " tu connais Astérix et Obélix? Eh bien il y a les villages gaulois, et les garnisons romaines...". Une intéressante piste de réflexion! Et vous? Qu'auriez vous choisi comme métaphore pour illustrer et définir une communauté autochtone?

Aidez nous à compléter notre bibliothèque! Des livres en espagnol, des livres sur la santé, la famille et le travail, des bandes dessinées, des romans historiques, des récits d'histoires vécues et des livres en Inuktituk nous ont été demandés! Contactez nous à l'adresse suivante pour les dons: [email protected] ! Nos bénévoles peuvent venir chercher les livres à votre domicile!
 
Vos livres ne sont pas perdus! Notre équipe de bénévoles trie activement chaque livre reçu, en vérifie l'état et les thématiques. Ceux qui ne correspondent pas sont ensuite partagés à des organismes tels que la Fédération Québécoise pour la Déficience Intellectuelle, l'Armée du Salut, la librairie Renaissance, Les Petits Frères des Pauvres, ou encore la Maisonnette des Parents! Notre mot d'ordre: aucun livre ne doit être jeté!
