Il y a trois semaines, pour la St Valentin, voici la réponse que j'ai donné à Christopher, qui me demandait mon livre préféré. 
 
Certaines soirées sont plus difficiles que d'autres, à bord d'idAction Mobile. Pluie verglaçante, froid mordant, trottoirs déserts.  Confidences pesantes, larmes, ivresse, solitude, abandon. 
 
Sous cette pluie verglaçante, devant le refuge du PAQ, Christopher m'offre un brouillon sur lequel il travaille. Je lis. Je trouve le texte incongru. Je poursuis, curieuse. Au bas du texte, un nom : Boris Vian. Je lève les yeux, incrédule. Christopher, celui qui m'avait dit quelques semaines auparavant "you are challenging me" s'explique : tous les exemplaires de L'Ecume des jours avaient été empruntés, à la Grande Bibliothèque. Il a emprunté un autre livre de l'auteur, et en a recopié les paroles sur une feuille. Anglophone, il a demandé à des personnes de lui traduire le texte. De ce qu'il en a compris, il a dessiné le visage de l'auteur en filigrane, empreint de l'expression qui selon lui correspond au texte.   Ballade de l'an quarante, interprétation de Christopher Matthews

Plus tard, tandis que j'apprend à coudre des bas avec Rocky dans le refuge en philosophant, je regarde mes compagnons de route : Fred pianote sur son accordéon, accompagné par Christopher qui déclame ses péripéties d'une belle voix grave. Dans le fond de la salle, Johny s'est exilé. Il dessine pour Roxanne, étudiante en techniques policières, bénévole ce soir là. Un ours, une banquise... Larry questionne Mélanie, également bénévole, sur la tenue appropriée à porter, pour le vernissage D'un Oeil Différent...  
 
 
Quelle sérénité tout à coup... tout le monde semble soudainement avoir trouvé sa place.

C'est beau. 
Je serre le texte de Boris Vian... il va les avoir ses larmes...! Je fixe le sol, pensive. Il le remarque :
