What is it?

The projects held within the Inclusive Speech Lab aim to develop processes that facilitate a public speaking platform for underrepresented groups within democratic speech processes.

Today, other types of experiments are interested in the articulation of democratic exchange between elected officials and citizens, especially with the youth of Habitations Jeanne-Mance in Montreal.

A bit of background

This first project involved the participation of homeless men that had been regularly visiting community-based organisations in the collective building of an hour-long radio show that aired on CIBL.

In collaboration with Oxfam, this project allowed over a hundred youth from 20 countries to co-construct a manifesto that spoke out against inequalities, from a global perspective.

  • Consultation in the Sud-Ouest borough for the F-MR – 2017 station.

In partnership with the MIS (maison de l’innovation sociale), this consultation focused on a better understanding of neighboring communities (Griffintown, Saint-Henri, Pointe Saint-Charles, Petite-Bourgogne) based on their hopes, strengths, misgivings, etc, in order to be able to offer programming that was best suited for the residents of the borough

  • Youth projects proposition with CJE Plateau - 2017

Through the CJE, this project was created to give a voice to the youth (around twenty) who are homeless or are at risk of becoming homeless and engage in ideas and project proposals with them. The consultation happened during a half-day of fun activities.

This was a public speaking project at the National Assembly that was done by the youth of the organisation Dans la rue in collaboration with assembly member Manon Massé. They brainstormed and co-wrote questions that Mme Massé brought forth to the National Assembly, on their behalf.
