Des lunettes rouges pour un regard neuf !

Aujourd'hui, toute l'équipe d'Exeko se mobilie et porte ses lunettes rouges, en soutien à la Semaine des 11-17 ans qui a lieu du 22 au 26 septembre 2014. Organisé par la Fondation Québec Jeunes, cet événement vise à sensibiliser chaque citoyen à la cause des jeunes faisant face à une difficulté et lancer ce message « Voyez les ados autrement ».

 

 

Tout comme Exeko, la Fondation s'attache à aller au-delà d'enjeux sociaux que peuvent rencontrer les jeunes liés à l’intimidation, la persévérance scolaire, la pauvreté, la santé, ou encore, le bien-être. Cette année encore, près de 20 000 participants ont recours aux services des organismes partenaires de la Fondation Québec Jeunes, dont Exeko à travers son programme Trickster.

 

Sans nier ni les réalités, ni les défis du quotidien, et particulièrement en milieu autochtone, nous restons persuadés que c'est en portant un regard juste et valorisant, tourné vers le potentiel riche et vivifiant incarné par cette jeunesse, que l'horizon d'une société plus inclusive pourra se dessiner. Plus qu'un symbole, ces lunettes invitent chacun d'entre nous à une prise de conscience : se détacher de nos préjugés, porter un nouveau regard sur cette jeunesse, viser un horizon prometteur, les accompagner à travers leurs doutes et laisser place à leur créativité, leurs aspirations et leurs projets.

En 2013, Exeko a pris part à la consultation sur l’avenir de la jeunesse portée principalement par le Secrétariat à la Jeunesse du Québec.

Nous avons au cours de l’été suivi et pris part à plusieurs des étapes de la consultation, que ce soit au travers le site interactif, dans notre région avec le Forum Jeunesse de l’île de Montréal, au comité jeunesse du Réseau pour la stratégie urbaine pour la communauté autochtone de Montréal, ou encore avec les jeunes Autochtones au 3e Forum Jeunesse des Premières Nations.

Nous avons également profité de l’occasion pour inscrire la réflexion autour d’une nouvelle politique jeunesse à l’agenda d’ateliers de médiation et de participation citoyenne avec les participants de nos projets et programmes, particulièrement idAction et idAction Mobile. Ainsi, nous avons invités des jeunes parmi les plus marginalisés du Québec à exprimer leurs propositions. Jeunes décrocheurs, jeunes incarcérés, jeunes de rue, jeunes Autochtones nous ont ainsi livré leurs préoccupations autant que leurs rêves, projetant leur identité propre, trop souvent brimée par leur marginalité et l’exclusion, dans une vision d’avenir pleine de créativité, d’audace et de sens pour la jeunesse du Québec.
